We are excited to continue the use of pacers for the UTD160 runners in 2024
The use of pacers was first introduced in 2021 as a result of the change in courses which allowed us to permit pacing on the course for the milers.
Pacing for utd160
The Pacing Zone is from Sani Valley Gate Aid Station (at 58.3km) to Crystal Waters Aid Station (at 97.4km), a total of 39.1km.
Only one pacer is permitted to accompany a runner.
Details for runner’s pacers can be entered on the race entry form and can be added after a runner has processed their entry. There will be a small entry fee for pacers and this will cover their race number, medical cover, Aid Stations and ticket to the awards lunch.
Pacing rules
No pacer is permitted to carry any of their Runner’s clothing, equipment or nutrition/hydration. Any pacer doing so will result in the disqualification of their runner
No pacing is permitted outside of the Pacing Zones
Only registered pacers may accompany runners. No runner can spontaneously decide to use a pacer. This will also result in disqualification
Pacers will receive a briefing email on the Friday the week before the race
